To configure logging for Internet Information Services

Perform this procedure if you installed IIS after running the Monitoring Configuration Wizard.

  1. Open Server Management.
  2. In the console tree, right-click Default Web Site, and then click Properties.

    • Web Sites
    • Default Web Site
  3. On the Web Site tab, select the Enable logging check box.
  4. Under Active log format, confirm that W3C Extended Log File Format is the active log format, and then click Properties.
  5. On the General tab, configure the settings as follows:
    • Under New log schedule, click Daily.
    • Select the Use local time for file naming and rollover check box.
    • Under Log file directory, accept the default directory, or type or browse to another folder location for your log file.
  6. On the Advanced tab, ensure that the following logging options are selected:
    • Date
    • Time
    • User Name
    • Server Port
    • Method
    • URI Stem
    • Protocol Status
    • Bytes Sent
    • Bytes Received
