Change Broadband Password

You can change the password used by your broadband connection to connect to the Internet. A broadband password is also referred to as Point-to-Point-Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE).

  • Broadband connections that use a password are also referred to as Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) connections.

PPPoE connection

Specifies the name of the connection you are using to connect to your Internet service provider (ISP).

User name

Specifies the name of the account used to authenticate your broadband Internet connection to your ISP.

Password

Type the password for the account used to authenticate your broadband Internet connection to your ISP. To verify it was entered correctly, retype the password in Confirm password.

Notes

  • If you would like to connect to your ISP using a PPPoE connection other than the default connection, click a different connection name in the drop-down list.
  • To add a new broadband connection, run the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard. For more information about the wizard, click Start, and then click Help and Support.
  • If you change the user name or password authentication information, be sure your ISP has made the change in their settings as well.
