Identifying a Node

Applies To: Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003

Sometimes a cluster administrator will find that a node needs to be identified. Reasons for this might be that physical labels might be incorrect or absent, or nodes might be added and removed without updated identification. The administrator can cause a node to eject the CD drive, allowing positive identification of the node.

To identify a node

  1. From the Compute Cluster Administrator, navigate to the Node Management page by selecting Node Management in the left-most (navigation) pane.

  2. In the central Details pane, right-click a node.

  3. Select Identify Node. The node you have selected will eject the CD drive (if one exists).
