Compute Cluster Network Topology: Scenario 2

All nodes on both public and private networks
In this cluster topology scenario, the head node and all compute nodes have two network interfaces. As in scenario 1, communications between nodes, including deployment, management, and MPI traffic, are all carried on the private network, but in this configuration the public network is attached to all cluster nodes.

Considerations when using this topology
Improved cluster response because internal cluster network is routed onto the private network.
Well-suited to developing and debugging applications because all cluster nodes are connected to the public network.
Easy access to compute nodes by users on the public network.
Faster access to public network resources by the cluster compute nodes.
Network Configuration
In this scenario, enabling Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) on the head node is optional. However, if ICS is not enabled and you want to use the Automated method of adding nodes to the cluster, you should configure a DHCP server on the private network to dynamically provide IP addresses to the private interfaces of the compute nodes.
