Removing RIS

Remote Installation Services (RIS) can be removed from a head node by using the Compute Cluster Administrator and navigating to the To Do List.

Note

You must also uninstall the hotfix for RIS when you remove RIS from the head node.

To remove RIS from a head node

  1. Open the Compute Cluster Administrator, and then open the To Do List.

  2. On the Remote Installation Services (RIS) pane, click Uninstall RIS.

  3. On the Before You Begin page, note the tasks you can perform, then click Next.

  4. On the Configure RIS page, click Remove Remote Installation Services, and then click Next.

  5. On the View Summary page, verify that the message You want to remove RIS is displayed. Click Finish to confirm this is what you want to do.

  6. The progress of the RIS uninstall operation is displayed on the Progress page.

  7. If RIS is successfully removed from the head node, the Result page reports that the removal of RIS is complete. If not, the Result page reports the error encountered. Click Finish to close the wizard.

  8. Uninstall the hotfix for RIS using Add or Remove Programs.
