Checking the BIOS
Before upgrading to Windows Vista check that the computer's BIOS is the latest available version and that it is compatible with Windows Vista. You can obtain an updated BIOS from the manufacturer.
If the computer does not have Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) functionality, you may not be able to complete Windows Vista setup.
