Start the Remote Access Auto Connection Manager Service

Applies To: Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 7

You can use this procedure to start the Remote Access Auto Connection Manager service. This service connects your default network connection whenever a program requests a remote DNS address or NetBIOS name, and a connection is not currently active to support the request.

Membership in the local Administrators group, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure.

To start the Remote Access Auto Connection Manager service

  1. To open Computer Management, click Start, right-click Computer, and then click Manage.

  2. In the console tree, expand Computer Management (Local), expand Services and Applications, and then click Services.

  3. In the details pane, right-click Remote Access Auto Connection Manager, and then click Start.

    In the Status column, Started appears.
