Important files to review

At some point in the process of planning for a new installation or an upgrade, familiarize yourself with the Relnotes.htm file found in the \Docs folder on the CD for the Windows Server 2003 operating systems. This file contains important usage information about hardware, networking, applications, and printing. Also familiarize yourself with information about hardware compatibility for products in the Windows Server 2003 family. For more information, see Hardware compatibility.

For the most recent information on compatible applications for products in the Windows Server 2003 family, see the software compatibility section of the Microsoft Web site.

Most of the information contained in the Getting Started topics also appears in the \Docs folder on the Windows Server 2003 operating systems CDs, in text files (which use a file name extension of "TXT").
