Configuring the FTP Service
Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 with SP1
The Apache to IIS 6.0 Migration Tool requires the FTP service to migrate Apache Web sites to the target server. The installation option you previously selected will determine on which computers you need to enable the FTP service. Table 7.3 lists the FTP service requirements for each installation option.

Configure the FTP service on the target server
After you install the FTP service on the target server, no additional configuration is required. The Apache to IIS 6.0 Migration Tool works with the FTP service in the default configuration. Later in the deployment process, the tool creates a default FTP site to be used for Web site migration.
Configure the FTP service on the source server
Configuring the FTP service on the source server requires installing and configuring the FTP package from the Linux distribution disc. After the FTP service is installed, you must configure it to allow access to the Web sites.
For more information about how to install and configure the FTP service on the source computer, see the FTP documentation that accompanies the version of Linux that is installed on the source server.
