In IIS 7, there are several tools available to configure and manage IIS. These tools include the following:

  • A redesigned UI, which is named IIS Manager.

  • A new command-line tool, which is named Appcmd.exe.

  • A new IIS configuration store, which consists of ApplicationHost.config and Web.config files.

  • A new Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) namespace.
