Publish a Site in Active Directory Domain Services

Applies To: Windows Server 2008

You can use the UDDI Services snap-in to register a UDDI Services site’s connection points in Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) to advertise the site's presence and access point to other UDDI Services–aware applications and services, such as Microsoft Visual Studio. When you install UDDI Services, the default selection Self-register publishes the site that you are installing in AD DS. You can choose not to self-register during installation.

You can also use this interface to remove a site from publication in AD DS.

Membership in Domain Administrators, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure.

To publish a site in AD DS

  1. Open UDDI Services Management Console.

  2. In the console tree, click the UDDI Services site that you want to publish in AD DS.

  3. On the Action menu, click Properties, and then click the Active Directory tab.

  4. On the Active Directory tab, click Publish, and then click OK.

Additional considerations

  • Publishing in AD DS requires user credentials with directory Publish permissions.

  • If you are using Internet Explorer 11, make sure you open the site in the compatibility mode to get the complete experience. The left navigation pane and the Quick Help drop-down does not render if you do not use the compatibility mode.
