Migrating Providers to a New Site

The UDDI Data Export Wizard provides a means to migrate providers from one UDDI Services site to a new UDDI Services site.

Membership in Users, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete the procedure. Review details about using the appropriate accounts and group memberships at Local and Domain Default Groups (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=83477).

To migrate providers to a new site

  1. Click Start, and then click Command Prompt.

  2. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

    uddidataexport.exe
    
  3. Review the information on the Welcome page of the wizard, and then click Next.

  4. Specify the Inquiry URL (source site), select the authentication type, type the destination file name, and then click Next. You must have the appropriate level of privilege to invoke the Inquiry URL.

  5. Select Providers.

  6. Select the Include dependencies and Remove default discovery URL check boxes, and then click Next.

  7. In Name, type all or part of the name of the entity or entities that you want to migrate to the new site.

  8. Select the providers that you want to export by selecting the check boxes next to the entities, and then click Export

  9. Click Finish.

  10. Using your Web browser, navigate to the UDDI Services Web site to which you want to migrate the providers. For example, navigate to https://<servername>/uddi.

  11. Click Coordinate, and then click Data Import.

  12. Click Browse, navigate to the XML file that contains the entities that you want to migrate to this site, and then click Open.

  13. Click Import. The entities that the XML file contains are migrated to the new UDDI Services site and published by the user who is currently signed in.

Important

When you import data into a site, the new data overwrites any duplicate information.
