Configuring Custom Controls (IIS 7)

Applies To: Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista

Web custom controls are compiled components that run on the server and that encapsulate user-interface and other related functionality into reusable packages. In IIS 7, you can specify the tag prefix and namespace mapping for a custom control that can be used in multiple pages in an application.

For information about the levels at which you can perform these procedures, and the modules, handlers, and permissions that are required for these procedures, see Custom Controls Feature Requirements (IIS 7).
