Reset a Site or an Application Feature to the Default Delegation State (IIS 7)

Applies To: Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista

If you change the delegation state for a site or application feature, but you later want the feature to return to the default delegation state, you can reset the feature to inherit the default delegation state from the parent level. This is useful if you want the delegation setting for the feature to always inherit the setting from the parent level.

Prerequisites

For information about the levels at which you can perform this procedure, and the modules, handlers, and permissions that are required to perform this procedure, see Delegation Feature Requirements (IIS 7).

Exceptions to feature requirements

  • None

To reset a site or application feature to the default delegation state

  1. Open IIS Manager. For information about opening IIS Manager, see Open IIS Manager (IIS 7).

  2. In the Connections pane:

    • If you want to configure the delegation state of site features, click the server node in the tree.

To configure the delegation state of features in a specific site or all sites on a Web server, you must be a server administrator.

  - If you want to configure the delegation state of application features, use the tools in the **Connections** pane to connect to the site that contains the application or applications. Then click the site in the tree.
