Applies To: Windows Server 2008 R2

Use this tab to specify whether you want to allow file and printer sharing by using this connection, and which versions of IP you want to support.

Setting Description

Name

Specifies the name of the VPN entry. If you are editing an existing entry, then the name is already set, and you cannot change it here.

Disable file and printer sharing

Selecting this check box specifies that the protocols for file and printer sharing cannot be used by a connection using this VPN entry.

Enable clients to establish the following connectivity

Choices include:

  • Only IPv4 address. Specifies that the client receives an Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) address only, and cannot communicate by using Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6).

  • Only IPv6 address. Specifies that the client receives an IPv6 address only, and cannot communicate by using IPv4.

  • Both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. This is the default option, which specifies that the client receives both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, and can communicate by using either protocol.

Configuration options for the IPv4 and IPv6 protocols are set on the IPv4 and IPv6 tabs of the New/Edit VPN Entry dialog box.
