Network File System in Microsoft Unified Data Storage Server 2003

Services for Network File System (NFS) is a new feature of Microsoft® Windows Server® 2003 R2 that builds on the authentication framework introduced in Windows® Services for UNIX. It also adds additional functionality and authentication mechanisms that utilize Active Directory® Domain Services and the new Identity Management for UNIX to identify which user is requesting access to a resource and to authenticate that request to the appropriate authority. This white paper covers the various mechanisms that are involved in authentication and focuses on the new mechanisms introduced in Windows Unified Data Storage Server 2003.
