To change the value of this entry, in Control Panel double-click Regional and Language Options, click the Regional Options tab, and then click the Customize... button. Next, click the Date tab, and then select a symbol from the Date separator list. Click OK.

Activation Method

Changes made in Regional and Language Options are effective immediately.

Note

  • Regional Options in Control Panel links the sDate and sShortDate values. This ensures that the date separator and the date format are synchronized. For example:
sDate  sShortDate  Meaning

/

m/d/yy

6/5/69

  • Setting sTime and sTimeFormat independently in the registry can result in conflicting values. To repair these settings, use Regional Options in Control Panel.

  • Setting only one value in the registry might not change the date as it appears in applications, because an application might read either sDate or sShortDate.
