Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) Filters

Group Policy provides policy setting information to the WMI Common Information Model (CIM)-compliant object repository (CIMON database). With WMI Filters, you can specify a WMI-based query to filter the effect of a Group Policy object in the CIMON database. WMI Filters can be written and customized using the WMI Query Language (WQL).
