Description

Specifies how often a primary domain controller (PDC) notifies backup domain controllers (BDCs) that changes have been made to the Security Accounts Manager (SAM) and Local Security Authority (LSA) databases. When the time specified by the value of this entry expires, the PDC sends notices only to the BDCs whose databases are not current.

The value of this entry does not affect database changes that trigger immediate updates. These include:

  • Changing an account lockout policy.

  • Changing a domain password policy.

  • Changing a computer account password.

  • Locking out an account.

  • Changing the password for a trust account.

This entry does not exist in the registry by default. You can add it by using the registry editor Regedit.exe.

Note

  • In Windows Server 2003, the Net Logon service manages replication only if the replication involves servers running Windows NT 4.0 or earlier. Net Logon for Windows Server 2003 does not manage replication between two servers running Windows Server 2003.
