Multiple Worker Processes Affect ISAPI Filter Status Display
Updated: August 22, 2005

As a routine security practice, you should monitor the status of your ISAPI filters to ensure that they are functioning correctly. In IIS 6.0, you can use IIS Manager to check the ISAPI filter status. Because multiple worker processes are supported in IIS 6.0, be careful when you interpret the status as it is displayed. For example, if a red arrow appears, that indicates that the last ISAPI filter failed to load; it does not indicate that all of the ISAPI filters for all of the worker processes failed.
