For instructions for using this wizard, see Recover a Backup Catalog. You can use this page to specify where you want to recover the catalog from (either a local drive or remote shared folder), or you can choose to delete the catalog. |
Select backup location |
Use this page to choose the backup that you want to use to recover the catalog. Select the volume or drive from the drop-down list. |
Specify remote folder |
Use this page if you are recovering the catalog from a backup stored on a remote shared folder. Type the path to the shared folder. Note When you created the backup, the folders \WindowsImageBackup<ComputerName> were added to the shared folder. The backup is stored in <ComputerName>. However, you do not need to append the shared folder name with the added folders. |

Review the choices that you made in the wizard. When you click Finish, the catalog will be recovered or deleted. |

Additional considerations
To recover a backup catalog using Windows Server Backup, you must be a member of the Backup Operators or Administrators group, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. As a security best practice, consider using Run as to perform this procedure.
This wizard will only appear in Windows Server Backup if the backup catalog is corrupted.
