Back up Windows Small Business Server
To complete this procedure, you must be logged on as a member of the Domain Admins security group.
- Open Server Management. To open Server Management, click Start, and then click Server Management.
- In the console tree, click Backup.
- If you have already configured backup settings and want to back up the computer running Windows Small Business Server immediately, click Backup Now.
If you have not yet configured backup settings: In the details pane, click Configure Backup. The Backup Configuration Wizard appears. - Complete the wizard by specifying:
- A backup location, either hard disk or tape
- The day(s) and time to back up
- An on-site user to change the backup tapes (if backing up to tape)
- The amount of disk space reserved for previous versions of files and deleted files
- The amount of space allocated to store deleted e-mail messages
Note
Windows Small Business Server Backup can only span multiple tapes if the drive supports robotic tape changes.
