Change the printing priority of documents

To complete this procedure, you must be logged on using an account with Manage Documents permission. By default, members of the Domain Admins and Domain Power Users group have this permission.

Using Server Management

  1. Open Server Management.
  2. In the console tree, click Printers.
  3. In the details pane, click a printer with multiple documents waiting to print, and then click Manage Printer Jobs.
  4. Right-click the document for which you want to change the printing priority, and then click Properties.
  5. On the General tab, under Priority, move the slider to change the printing priority of the document. The higher the number, the higher the priority.

Notes

  • To open Server Management, click Start, and then click Server Management.
  • The priority change may or may not be reflected in the order of documents listed.

Using Server Management for Power Users

  1. Open Server Management for Power Users.
  2. Click Printers and Fax Printers.
  3. Click a printer with multiple documents waiting to print, and then click Manage Printer Jobs.
  4. Right-click the document for which you want to change the printing priority, and then click Properties.
  5. On the General tab, under Priority, move the slider to change the printing priority of the document. The higher the number, the higher the priority.

Notes

  • To open Server Management for Power Users, click Start, and then click Server Management. If you are a member of the Domain Admins group and want to open Server Management for Power Users, click Start, click Run, and then type: %systemdrive%\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\SmallBusinessServer\Administration\mysbsconsole.msc
  • The priority change may or may not be reflected in the order of documents listed.
