RMS Service Locator Service
Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2
The Service Locator service runs on both the RMS root and licensing-only clusters. The Service Locator service provides the service connection URL of the cluster to Active Directory so that it can be discovery by RMS-enabled clients.
The service locator service application file, ServiceLocator.asmx, is located in the Certification and Licensing virtual directories that are in IIS.
The default access control list on this service is shown in the following table:
