RMS Logging Database

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

For each root or licensing-only cluster, RMS Setup installs a logging database in the same database server instance that hosts the configuration database. Setup also creates a private message queue for logging in Message Queuing. The logging listener service transmits data from this message queue to the logging database.

The RMS Service Group has Execute permissions on the stored procedures that are in the logging database.

The logging listener service sends large amounts of data to the logging database, so administrators may want to create filters so that the logging database stores only the information that is required by their organizations.
