RemoveMXDW

The RemoveMXDW setting is used to remove the Microsoft XPS Document Writer (MXDW) print queue and driver package from a Windows installation.

Note

The XPS Document Writer print queue and driver package is not removed until Windows starts and the Printers folder is opened. To create a Windows image without the MXDW print queue and driver package, you must install Windows with the value of the RemoveMXDW setting equal to 1. After installation, open the Printers folder to completely remove the files. Next, run the Sysprep tool, and then recapture the Windows image.

Important

In addition to configuring this setting, to remove the MXDW print queue and driver package installation files from a Windows installation, you must also configure the Microsoft-Windows-Printing-XPSServices-Package to be removed during Windows installation. Add the Microsoft-Windows-Printing-XPSServices-Package package to your answer file, and, in the Actions field, select Remove.

This setting has no effect on Server Core installations of Windows Server 2008.

Values
