Welcome to the MS-DOS 6 Technical Reference. This guide is designed for people who want more technical information about the Microsoft® MS-DOS® 6 operating system features.

The MS-DOS 6 Technical Referencecontains the following information:

  • Tips and tricks for working with your startup files.

  • Information about DoubleSpace, including the Microsoft Real-Time Compression Interface (MRCI) Specification and the DoubleSpace System API Specification.

  • Tips, tricks, and troubleshooting information about MemMaker and memory management.

  • Additional information about other MS-DOS 6 features.

  • A printed reference for all MS-DOS 6 commands.

The MS-DOS 6 Technical Reference is a technical supplement to the documentation that is included in your MS-DOS package and does not replace that information as the source for learning how to use MS-DOS features.

When you purchase the MS-DOS 6 Resource Kit, you also receive the Supplemental disks, which contain tools and files, including the COMMANDS.TXT file, which describes the commands on the disk.
