Windows SharePoint Services uses two databases to store all sitedata, including documents in document libraries. The configuration database contains all of the globalsettings for the server, and the content database containsall of the site content, such as list items and documents. Therecan be more than one content database per server, but there can beonly one configuration database. In a default installation ofWindows SharePoint Services, setup creates a configuration databasenamed STS_Config and a content database namedSTS_ Computer_Name _1.
