There are some differences in HTTP 1.1 support for Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2000, and Microsoft ISA Server 2004.

  • The ISA Server 2000 Web Proxy service can only forward Web requests using HTTP 1.0, even if the original request was made using HTTP 1.1.

  • The ISA Server 2004 HTTP Filter forwards Web requests using HTTP 1.1.

If you are an ISA Server 2000 user and require this type of HTTP 1.1 support, we recommend you consider upgrading to ISA Server 2004. Note that ISA Server 2004 is not fully RFC-compliant for HTTP 1.1.
