Updated: November 16, 2007

Applies To: Windows Server 2008

This problem typically occurs when a Telnet session running on a Telnet client running UNIX to a Telnet server running Windows has its communications path interrupted.

If the interruption causes your session to disconnect, and you have to reconnect, the cursor might not be displayed at the place where text input is accepted.

To realign the cursor the text entry point:

  • If your shell is the Windows command prompt, type CLS, and then press ENTER.

  • If your shell is the Korn shell or C shell, type CLEAR, and then press ENTER.
