Enable NAT

Membership in the local Administrators group, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure. Review details about using the appropriate accounts and group memberships at Local and Domain Default Groups (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=83477).

To enable network address translation addressing

  1. Open Routing and Remote Access.

  2. In the console tree, click NAT.

    Where?

    • Routing and Remote Access/server name/[IPv4 or IPv6]/NAT
  3. Right-click NAT, and then click Properties.

  4. On the Address Assignment tab, select the Automatically assign IP addresses by using the DHCP allocator check box.

  5. (Optional) To allocate to DHCP clients on the private network, in IP address and Mask, configure the range of IP addresses.

  6. (Optional) To exclude addresses from allocation to DHCP clients on the private network, click Exclude, click Add, and then configure the addresses.
