Notes

  • For this procedure, you must use Active Directory integrated or local Windows accounts authentication. If you are using encrypted password file authentication and want to configure e-mail relaying, see the topic on Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) in Related Topics.

  • This procedure uses Outlook Express as an example. If you are not using Outlook Express, check the documentation for your e-mail client for information about configuring e-mail clients to authenticate to the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) service.

Information about functional differences

  • Your server might function differently based on the version and edition of the operating system that is installed, your account permissions, and your menu settings. For more information, see Viewing Help on the Web.
