Rename a cluster

To rename a cluster
Open Cluster Administrator.
In the console tree, click the cluster you want to rename.
On the File menu, click Rename.
Type the new name for the cluster next to its icon.
Notes
To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Administrators group on the local computer, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. If the computer is joined to a domain, members of the Domain Admins group might be able to perform this procedure. As a security best practice, consider using Run as to perform this procedure.
To open Cluster Administrator, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Cluster Administrator.
The cluster name cannot be the same as the computer name of a cluster node, and it cannot conflict with any other server, cluster, or domain name in use on your network.
The new name does not take effect until the Cluster Name resource is taken offline and brought back online. The Cluster Name resource is found in the Cluster Group resource group in a newly created cluster.
The cluster name can also be changed by displaying the properties of the Cluster Name resource, selecting the Parameters tab, then clicking on the Rename button.
