REG_DWORD |
60–172,800 (seconds) (1 minute–2 days) |
900 (15 minutes) |
Description
Specifies how often the Net Logon service performs scavenging activities, such as the following:
Checks for password expirations on secure channels.
Checks for idle secure channels.
Discovers domain controllers for all trusted domains in which a domain controller has not yet been discovered. (Domain controllers only.)
Attempts to add the domain's NetBIOS <1B> name. (Primary domain controllers only.)
Cleans up sundry system resources that are no longer needed.
The default value is optimal for most systems. However, in some cases, such as when a trusted domain is connected by an expensive connection, you might add this entry to increase the time between operations.
This entry does not exist in the registry by default. You can add it by using the registry editor Regedit.exe.
