View the dependent client list for a server

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To view the dependent client list for a server

  1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers.

  2. On the View menu, click Users, Groups, and Computers as containers, and then click Advanced Features.

  3. In the console tree, right-click msmq.

    Where?

    • Active Directory Users and Computers/YourDomain/YourOrganizationalUnit (such as Computers or Domain Controllers)/YourComputer/msmq
  4. Click Properties.

  5. Click the Dependent Clients tab, and then click Refresh to ensure that the list is current.

Notes

  • To open Active Directory Users and Computers, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Users and Computers.

  • You can only view those dependent clients that are currently active (such as currently sending messages), which may not be the total number of dependent clients in your organization.

  • By default, following installation, Message Queuing servers are not enabled to support dependent clients. For instructions on enabling a Message Queuing server to act as a supporting server, see Enable a supporting server.
