UNIX-system-name

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PswdSync\Domains

Description

The UNIX-system-name subkey is named for a particular UNIX system associated with this Windows Server 2003, and it contains entries that apply only to that UNIX system. There is a UNIX-system-name subkey for each UNIX system associated with this Windows Server 2003.

The entries listed in UNIX-system-name can appear in any UNIX-system-name subkey. Some of the entries can also appear in the PswdSync subkey. However, when they appear in PswdSync, their values apply to all UNIX systems. When the same entry appears in PswdSync and in a UNIX-system-name subkey, the value in the UNIX-system-name subkey takes precedence over the value in the PswdSync subkey when configuring the named UNIX system.

Change Method

To change the value of entries in this subkey, use the Password Synchronization wizard in Services for UNIX Administrator. Do not edit the registry.

Notes

  • This subkey appears in the registry when you use the Password Synchronization wizard to configure a UNIX system.

  • The UNIX-system-name subkey is a variable representing the subkeys in the Domains subkeys. It does not actually appear in the registry. This variable subkey displays the entries that can appear in any of the subkeys within the Domains Subkey subkey. The entries that actually appear in the registry depend upon the configuration of the UNIX system.
