Upgrade a virtual server

You can upgrade any existing virtual server on your server computer to use SharePoint Team Services. You can upgrade from Microsoft Office 2000 Server Extensions or any version of Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions, including FrontPage Server Extensions 2002.

  1. On the Server Administration page, next to the virtual server that you want to upgrade to SharePoint Team Services, click Administration.

  2. Under administration, click Upgrade virtual server with Microsoft SharePoint.

  3. In the Administrator area, in the Administrator box, type the user name of the administrator for the virtual server.

  4. If necessary, enter the collaboration database settings to use.

    How?

    1. In the Database area, in the Database Server box, type the name of the server that the database is stored on.

    2. In the Database Account Username box, type the administrator username for the database.

    3. In the Database Account Password box, type the administrator password for the database.

  5. In the Site Type area, select a site type.

  6. Click Submit.
