Add, edit, or delete a link

Archived content. No warranty is made as to technical accuracy. Content may contain URLs that were valid when originally published, but now link to sites or pages that no longer exist.

Use the Links list to post hyperlinks to Web pages of interest to your team. By default, a view of the Links list appears on the home page of your SharePoint team Web site.

Besides viewing links on the home page, you can go to the Links page to see all the links in the list.

Do one of the following:

  1. On the top link bar, click Lists.

  2. On the Lists page, click Links.

  3. At the top of the list, click New Item.

  4. In the URL section, type a Web address: for example, https://example.microsoft.com. This field is required.

    Note   If you want the link to display text other than the URL, type the text in the Type the description box: for example, Sample site.

  5. Type text in the Comments box as desired.

  6. If you want to save the link in the list, click Save and Close.

    If you want to cancel creating the link, click Go back to list.

  1. On the top link bar, click Lists.

  2. On the Lists page, click Links.

  3. In the row where the name of the link appears, click Edit Cc768332.icprop(en-us,TechNet.10).gif.

  4. Do one of the following:

    • To modify the link information, edit the information as desired, and click Save and Close.

    • To delete the link, click Delete Item.
