Updated: June 25, 2007

Applies To: Windows Server 2008

Describes a specific problem with installing Message Queuing. Includes step-by-step instructions for fixing the problem.

This problem typically occurs when installing a Message Queuing computer as a dependent client and attempting to configure a supporting server.

By default, Message Queuing servers are not configured as supporting servers for dependent clients so there are not any supporting servers available for the dependent client.

To resolve this problem, configure a Message Queuing server in the site as a supporting server for dependent clients.

See Enable a Supporting Server for Dependent Clients for more information about configuring a Message Queuing server in the site as a supporting server for dependent clients.

After configuring a Message Queuing server in the site as a supporting server for dependent clients, install a Message Queuing computer as a dependent client and configure the supporting server option.
