Change the Password for an IIS Manager User Account (IIS 7)

Change the password for an IIS Manager user account when the account requires a new password, such as when a user forgets their password or if they disclose their password.

To change the password for an IIS Manager user account

  1. Open IIS Manager. For information about opening IIS Manager, see Open IIS Manager (IIS 7).

  2. In the Connections pane, click the server node.

  3. In Features View, double-click IIS Manager Users.

  4. On the IIS Manager Users page, select the user whose password you want to change.

  5. In the Actions pane, click Change Password.

  6. On the Change Password dialog box, type a password in the Password and Confirm password boxes.

  7. Click OK.
