Configure Remediation Server Groups

Applies To: Windows Server 2008

Configure remediation server groups

Use this procedure to configure remediation server groups in Network Policy Server (NPS).

A remediation server group is a list of servers on the restricted network that noncompliant NAP clients can access for software updates. Use this procedure to configure a new remediation server group in the NPS console.

Membership in Domain Admins, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure.

To create a new remediation server group using the Windows interface

  1. Open the NPS console.

  2. In the console tree, double-click Network Access Protection, right-click Remediation Server Groups, and then click New. The New Remediation Server Group dialog box opens.

  3. In Group name, type a name for the remediation server group, and then click Add.

  4. In Add New Server, in Friendly name, type a name for the server you want to add.

  5. In Add New Server, in IP address or DNS name, type the IP address or Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of the remediation server that you want to add. If you type the FQDN of the server, click Resolve to obtain the IP address of the server. Click OK.

  6. If you want to add more remediation servers to the remediation server group, repeat these steps for each server, and then click OK.
