Recover saved settings

After you install UDDI Services, it is a best practice to make backups of your configuration settings using the UDDI Configuration Tool (uddiconfig.exe). For information about using the UDDI Configuration Tool to back up configuration settings to an .xml file, see A-Z List (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=96172).

If you need to recover your saved settings, use the following procedure to restore saved settings from a backup file, for example, C:\config.xml, to Universal Description, Discovery, and Integration (UDDI) components that are running on the local computer.

To restore saved UDDI settings from a backup file:

  1. Open a command prompt as an administrator. Click Start, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

  2. If the User Account Control dialog box appears, confirm that the action that it displays is what you want, and then click Continue.

  3. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

    uddiconfig /f c:\config.xml

    The configuration settings from file C:\config.xml are applied to UDDI components that are running on the local computer.

Verify

To verify that the UDDI service is functioning correctly:

  1. Construct a save_tmodel Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) request and send the request to UDDI Services by using the Microsoft Universal Description, Discovery, and Integration (UDDI) Software Development Kit (SDK). For more information about saving tmodels using the UDDI SDK, see Saving a tModel (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=96145).
  2. Check the response message. If the UDDI service is functioning correctly, the message contains detailed information about the tmodel that was saved on the server. If the UDDI service is not functioning correctly, a detailed error message appears.
