Group Policy Management Console icons reference

Group Policy Management Console (GPMC) provides context-specific icons to dynamically represent the state of console objects. There are different icons for Group Policy objects (GPOs), links, WMI filters, sites, forests, and other objects and containers.

General usage of icons

Some icons exist in only one version. For example, the icon for GPMC always looks the same: GPMC

Other icons have variations in appearance. The variations indicate the state of the object. For example, when the icon for a domain or organizational unit is shown with a blue circle and exclamation point superimposed, such as:

Blocked and blocked,

this means that inheritance is blocked on that domain or organizational unit.
