Network interfaces

A network interface is a card or other network adapter that connects a computer to a network. The Cluster service keeps track of all network interfaces in a server cluster. This allows you to view the state of all cluster network interfaces from a cluster management application, such as Cluster Administrator. For more information, see Network state management and failure detection.

Windows Server 2003 family operating systems automatically detect the addition and removal of network interfaces. For more information, see Plug and Play network support.
