Deleting disk quota entries

When a user no longer needs to use a volume on which quotas are enabled, you can eliminate that user's warning level and quota limit by deleting his or her entry from the Quota Entries window. However, you can do so only after all of the volume files owned by that user have either been deleted or removed from the volume, or after another user has taken ownership of the files.

Because disk quotas track files by owner, locating these files and then moving, deleting, or taking ownership of them is made simple with a dialog box that appears when you delete a quota entry. For instructions describing how to delete quota entries, see Delete quota entries.
