Determine the status of the Routing and Remote Access service

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To determine the status of the Routing and Remote Access service

  1. Open Computer Management.

  2. In the console tree, click Services.

    Where?

    • Computer Management/Services and Applications/Services
  3. In the details pane, for Routing and Remote Access, verify that the Status column is Started.

  4. If the service is not started, right-click Routing and Remote Access, and then click Start.

  5. If the router does not start, check the system event log for error messages.

  • To open Computer Management, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management.
