Installing Services for Network File System

Installing UNIX Interoperability Components

When you upgrade from Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) to Windows Server 2003 R2, the installation program does not install the UNIX interoperability components on your server. The installation only adds to the list of components that can be installed. Follow these steps to perform the installation:

1. Open Add/Remove Programs, and then click the Add/Remove Windows Components button to start the Windows Components Wizard (shown in Figure 4).

2. Click Other Network File and Print Services, and then click Details.

3. Click Highlight Services for NFS, and then click Details to open the Services for NFS dialog box (shown in Figure 5).

4. Select the NFS-related services you want, and follow the wizard prompts to finish.

Note

Installing Services for NFS may require that you restart the computer, so plan your installation accordingly.
