To add a site object and servers container

  1. Open ADAM ADSI Edit.

  2. Connect and bind to the configuration directory partition of an ADAM instance in the configuration set for which you want to create a site.

  3. In the console tree, double-click the configuration directory partition (CN=Configuration,CN={GUID}), right-click the sites container (CN=Sites), point to New, and then click Object.

  4. In Select a class, click site, and then click Next.

  5. In Value, type a common name (CN) for the new site, and then click Next.

  6. To set values for additional attributes, click More attributes, set any additional attribute values, and then click Finish.

  7. In the console tree, double-click the sites container (CN=Sites).

  8. In the console tree, right-click the new site, point to New, and then click Object.

  9. In Select a class, click serversContainer, and then click Next.

  10. In Value, type a common name (CN) for the server container, and then click Next.

  11. To set values for additional attributes, click More attributes, and then set any additional attribute values.

  12. After setting all desired attributes for the servers container, click Finish.

Notes

  • To open the ADAM ADSI Edit snap-in, click Start, point to All Programs, point to ADAM, and then click ADAM ADSI Edit.

  • To add ADAM instances to a site, the site must have a servers container into which the ADAM instances can be added.
