As a best practice, you should upgrade your networking hardware on your server computers so you are using network adapters that support checksum offloading. Checksum offloading allows the network adapter to perform the checksum processing that is usually performed below the TCP/IP stack, which will reduce the load on your computer's processor.

Note

Checksum offloading will not usually impact the performance on a client computer.
