Reproducing the Problem

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 with SP1

Once you have created your provider file and started the trace session, you must reproduce the problem. Reproducing the problem may be as simple as making one request from a client computer to a troublesome application, or as complex as using multiple clients to create load on the server.

Once you have reproduced the problem, you will be able to check the trace log file for details about the error or problem. If, after reproducing the problem, you do not find helpful details in the trace log, you may need to enable other providers or increase the verbosity level of your providers in the provider file. In short, if you have reproduced the problem, the events captured in the trace log should provide you the details of the problem.

For more information about tracing events and what they mean, see Tracing Events Reference.
